Why Tongue Scraping Is Potent at This Time
1. Early Spring = Clearing Accumulation
Over winter we store. We insulate. We rest. We may overeat heavier foods.
By early spring, Ama (residue) can accumulate.
Tongue coating may be thicker now.
Scraping supports:
Awakening sluggish digestion
Clearing excess Kapha
Stimulating Agni
Lightening the system gently
It is not forceful detox.
It is conscious awakening.
Why Tongue Scraping?
In Ayurveda, the tongue is considered a mirror of the internal organs and digestive fire (Agni).
Overnight, the body works deeply — digesting not only food, but emotions, experiences, and sensory impressions. By morning, what the body has processed and released often appears as a coating on the tongue.
This coating is known as Ama — undigested residue or toxins.
Tongue scraping is therefore not simply hygiene.
It is a daily ritual of:
Clearing stagnation
Awakening digestion
Supporting immunity
Honouring the body’s intelligence
Letting go of what no longer belongs to you
It is the first act of self-respect in the day.
The Energetic & Emotional Lens
The mouth is the gateway of nourishment and expression.
When we scrape the tongue, we symbolically release:
Words we didn’t speak
Emotions we swallowed
Experiences we haven’t fully digested
It becomes a moment of quiet witnessing.
Noticing. Releasing. Beginning again.
Benefits of Tongue Scraping
Physical Benefits
Removes overnight bacterial build-up
Reduces bad breath
Improves taste perception
Stimulates digestive organs reflexively
Gently wakes up Agni (digestive fire)
Supports lymphatic flow
Energetic Benefits
Clears heaviness (Kapha accumulation)
Supports clarity of mind
Enhances pranic flow
Invites lightness and freshness into the day
Why Copper?
Traditionally, a copper scraper is recommended.
Copper is naturally antimicrobial and aligns with warming, activating qualities — ideal in late winter and early spring when Kapha can linger as fog, dullness, or lethargy.
It’s simple, grounding, and deeply effective.
How to Practice (Teach This Slowly & Ritualistically)
Invite your students to imagine dawn.
Upon waking — before water, tea, or coffee.
Stand at the sink in quiet.
Extend the tongue gently.
Place the scraper at the back (without gagging).
Gently draw forward.
Rinse the scraper.
Repeat 5–7 times.
Encourage them to notice:
What colour is the coating?
Is it thick or thin?
Does it change with seasons?
How does the mouth feel afterwards?
Return to your Wild Radiance..
The Wild Feminine Yoga Method™ is a return.
A return to rhythm. A return to the body.
A return to the wisdom that lives beneath the noise.
This is not yoga as performance. This is yoga as remembrance.
Rooted in the ancient foundations of Yoga and Ayurveda,. The Wild Feminine Yoga Method™ weaves together cyclical living, elemental wisdom, nervous system nourishment, and intuitive embodiment. It honours the truth that women are not linear beings — we are seasonal, tidal, ever-changing.
Here, strength does not mean hardening. Softness does not mean weakness. Rest is not something to earn.
We move with the Earth.
We breathe with the Moon.
We build Ojas — deep vitality.
We nourish Rasa — the sacred sap of life.
This method supports women through every threshold — stress, burnout, perimenopause, menopause, creative rebirth, leadership, and reclamation. It brings you back into relationship with your belly as centre, your heart as compass, and your body as temple.
The Wild Feminine Yoga Method is not about becoming someone new.
It is about coming home to who you have always been.
Rooted. Radiant. Real.
This is yoga for the woman who remembers she belongs to the Earth — and to herself.
