"Bloody Wolf" is a top-down run & gun game developed by Data East and originally released in the arcades in 1988, in Europe under the name "Battle Rangers."
This PC Engine/Turbografx-16 port was released by NEC in 1989 in Japan and 1990 in North America; compared to the original, it lacks a multiplayer mode, but features a brand new stage.
In "Bloody Wolf", you play as "Eagle" and "Snake," 2 warriors who must rescue the President of the United States, who has been kidnapped by the enemy.
Despite the absence of the multiplayer mode and the presence of noticeable slowdowns, "Bloody Wolf" remains a title capable of providing a rewarding experience under the banner of 1980s action movie clichés, and is one of the most entertaining and representative titles in the PC Engine/Turbografx library.
