Our team designed and manufactured a custom system that feeds a paper “lid” through a friction feeder, which gets dropped onto a vacuum conveyor. The vacuum from the conveyor holds the paper “lid” in place while it passes underneath a Herma label applicator.

The applicator places a “patch” onto the paper “lid” (in the same place on the lid each time). Once the “patch” has been applied to the “lid” it will pass under a camera system that will a) verify patch is present b) verify patch has not been duplicated c) verify patch is in the correct orientation. If there is no “patch” present or “patch is duplicated, or in the wrong orientation the “lid” will be rejected into a bin. If the lid is deemed “good” by the camera system, it will travel to an exit shingly conveyor for operator handling.

Operator will pick up the assembled lids System will run at approx. 120-150 lids per minute
