Early season trout fishing, especially in the Delayed Harvest waters, is a time for nymphs and streamers. This version of the Frenchie is my favorite for spring fishing. This fly tying tutorial features all the simple steps to produce this fly. This fly tying video features one of the patterns that has worked well on my trips to the South in the spring.

This fly tying video features a simple material- Pheasant tail fibers, plus the traditional copper wire and a flashy white collar on a beaded jig hook. Simple stuff for a very effective pattern. If you watch the video to the end, you will be able to tie this very productive big fish fly, and even beginners will be able to do so.
