Soviet DP-2 Roentgenometer/Radiation Detector Review.
The DP-2 was a Soviet "Dose rate meter/dosimeter" also known as a Roentgenometer, it used a bakelite ionisation chamber to detect the ionisation of the air, basically how much the air was being ionised by X-Rays and Gamma rays.
The DP-2 is somewhat notorious for one of the most absurd check/control sources in any meter, a 500-1000 MicroCurie block of Sr-90, why they didn't use a small polonium or americium check source seems somewhat ludicrous unless it was just a method of "disposing" of nuclear waste inside radiation detectors.
This meter uses two types of obsolete batteries, one for the meter and one for the backlight, a D cell with croc clips can be very easily used to replace the original battery.
