PERFIDIA

Описание: Here's "Perfidia" on a Hammond B3 (with a little help from an iPad simulated guitar and also a keyboard too.) Please enable SUBTITLES and then you can read about what I am doing and what you are hearing as you watch the video. In the first verse, I use the iPad to play the melody until the bridge, so that I can devote the Hammond to doing mostly accompaniment. For the second verse, I use a keyboard set up to sound like a trumpet and a marimba for the melody, likewise doing the accompaniment on the Hammond. Again, the bridge and the final part are on the Hammond.

For best results you should listen to this through a good stereo speaker system. The frequency range of a Hammond, particularly at the low end greatly exceeds the capabilities of the tiny speakers in cell phones and other portable devices, some of which also play audio back as mono, even when the audio is in stereo. One good way to get around this is to plug the audio output of these devices into the input of your car's sound system, which usually gives surprisingly good sound for music.

In several places I also use a reiterating percussion effect on the Hammond. Though this was not a normal feature on this type of traditional Hammond organ, the nature of a typical Hammond's audio system makes such effects relatively easy to add without having to alter the basic instrument at all.
