Front Post Double Crochets (FPDC) are great for adding a pop of texture on the front side of your work. I love to alternate FPDC and regular DC stitches to get a lovely textured look. This is a great stitch combination for showing off colorful yarn!
To work a FPDC:
1. Yarn over
2. Insert your hook around the post of the next stitch going into the space next to the post (on the hook side of the stitch). You will be pushing the post forward by putting your hook back to front around the stitch by bringing your hook out the front of your work on the other side of the stitch
3. Yarn over and pulling up a loop like you would for a regular DC
4. Work a DC stitch like normal.
