AFO / brace / special shoes are of great importance in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. Such children do not have very good control over their bodies, so they need braces. braces should be lightweight and should control the minimal number of joints. The problem is different in different children affected by cerebral palsy. So their needs are also different. By making changes in these braces according to their needs, their ability to work can be enhanced. AFO is the most commonly used brace for CP children. It is made of lightweight polypropylene. There are also many types of AFO,. it is very important for therapists, experts, and parents to be aware of all these. In this video, Dr. Jain has discussed various issues in relation to their manufacture, design & use in these children. In the first part, Dr. Jain has discussed the general aspects of orthosis & AFO. In the second part, Dr. Jain has discussed other orthosis and devices.
