This was one of those fishing days where everything seemed to work against us.
We headed out reef fishing in Key Largo and ran into a full list of challenges! A clogged fuel filter, the weather forecast being off, my dad accidentally dropping my favorite spinning reel overboard, and even another angler running through our chum slick and shutting the yellowtail bite down.
Despite all of that, we stayed patient and kept at it.
By the end of the day, we were able to put together:
• 10 flag (large) yellowtail snappers
• A jumbo porgy
• A hard-earned reef fishing lesson in patience and persistence
This video is a reminder that not every trip is easy — but sometimes the tough days make the best memories and stories.
