This afternoon we explore the heart of Ubud, Bali, with a relaxing walking tour through some of the town’s most iconic streets, art markets, and cultural spots. Ubud is well known for its artistic atmosphere, traditional charm, and vibrant street life, making it one of Bali’s favourite destinations for travellers seeking culture and local experiences.

We begin our walk along Monkey Forest Street, one of the busiest and most popular streets in Ubud, lined with boutique shops, cafes, restaurants, and accommodation. From here, we continue heading towards the centre of Ubud Town, where the cultural energy of the area becomes more noticeable.

Our journey takes us to the famous Ubud Art Market, a must-visit destination for tourists looking for handmade crafts, traditional Balinese souvenirs, clothing, and local artwork. We then stroll along the Ubud Art Market Sidewalk, enjoying the lively street atmosphere, before continuing north towards the end of Karna Street.

Next, we walk down Karna Street heading south, a quieter area filled with small shops and local businesses, before arriving at Dewisita Street, another popular street featuring charming boutiques and cafes. We continue walking east until we reach Hanoman Street, one of Ubud’s main streets known for its mix of local eateries, yoga studios, and guesthouses.

From Hanoman Street, we turn right onto Goutama Selatan Street, then continue walking through Goutama Street, a well-known culinary street in Ubud where visitors can find a variety of local and international dining options.

Finally, we reach Ubud Main Street (Jalan Raya Ubud) and walk west towards the iconic Ubud Palace, one of the town’s historical landmarks and a centre of Balinese royal heritage.

As our walking tour is nearly finished, the weather suddenly changes and rain begins to fall — a common and refreshing experience in tropical Bali. If you’re planning to explore Ubud on foot, it’s always a good idea to bring an umbrella or rain jacket just in case.
