"There's nothing like a black box with red seats." New Theater Hollywood is a 50 seat theater on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles dedicated to experimental, interdisciplinary performance. Founders and co-directors Calla Henkel and Max Pitegoff describe the theater as a place for reflecting on collective existence, and discuss the motivation behind their film for Made in L.A. 2025 at the Hammer Museum.
This video is part of the Hammer Museum series for Made in L.A. 2025, the seventh edition of the museum exhibition that highlights artists working throughout the greater Los Angeles area, curated by Essence Harden and Paulina Pobocha.
