The subjects of this chilling documentary are people who have had their lives turned inside out after encountering spirits. In some cases the ghosts were benign but in others, they were hell-bent on destroying families and driving them from their homes. Using dramatised reconstructions, the programme explores some of these terrifying encounters. The Penney family in Birmingham moved to their dream home only to be chased away in terror by an unknown entity. The Hodsons lived in a beautiful manor house and assumed their five-year-old daughter was talking about two imaginary friends who would visit her at night - they were wrong. A Devon woman discovered her house had been built on a black magic ritual site. Ghosts of sacrificed people were haunting her and she turned to a mysterious ghost hunter for help. The stories sound fantastical but the people telling them truly believe that the things they saw were ghosts. Whether or not you believe them is up to you.
