📜HU: Körösgégény kastélyát 1860-ban Zichy Domokos rozsnyói majd veszprémi püspök építette, miután az 1849-ben kivégzett Jenő testvére elvesztése miatti fájdalom és a politikai helyzet tisztségének feladására és Erdélybe költözésre késztette. A kastélyt 1904-ben a másik, a bécsi Keleti Múzeumot megalapító Ödön öccsének unokája, Zichy Ödön (1874-1967) alakítja át vadászkastéllyá. Az első világháború után, 1918-ban a kastélyt eladni kényszerülnek. Az új tulajdonos a kőolajkitermelésben is érdekelt Gheorghe Mateescu havasalföldi bojár, akit igen hamar megszeretett a település lakossága. Nekik köszönhető, hogy a kastély berendezésével sértetlen maradt. 1947-ig még megvolt az eredeti berendezése és a lovagterem. A kastélyt miután államosították kiürítették, bútorait széthordták, 1950-től tüdőszanatóriumot rendeztek be, amely 2006 őszéig működött. A külső falakon még látszanak a családi címerek. A kastély jobb oldalán díszes emeletes bástyatorony látható. A toronyba vezető csigalépcső bejárata felett olvasható az 1904-es évszám. A kastélyt gyönyörű park övezi.

📜RO: Castelul din Gheghie a fost construit îm 1860 de fostul episcop din Veszprem, groful Zichy Domokos, care s-a mutat în Transilvania după înnăbușirea revoluției din 1848, și executarea fratelui său Jenő în 1849. În 1904 clădirea a fost transformată în castel de vânătoare de nepotul Zichy Ödön (1874-1967) al celuilalt frate al grofului, Zichy Ödön, fondatorul Muzeului Culturii Orientale din Viena. În 1918, după I. război mondial sunt nevoiți să vândă castelul. Noul proprietar devine Gheorghe Mateescu boier muntean, îndrăgit foarte repede de localnici. Mobilierul original și sala cavalerilor s-au păstrat până în 1947. După naționalizare castelul a fost golit de mobilier, iar în 1950 a fost transformat în sanatoriu TBC, care a funcționat până în toamna anului 2006. În partea dreaptă a castelului se ridică un bastion frumos ornat. Deasupra intrării spre scara spiralată ce duce în turn se poate citi anul 1904. Castelul este înconjurat de un parc frumos.

📜EN: The castle in Gheghie was built in 1860 by former Bishop of Veszprem, Zichy Domokos, who moved to Transylvania after the crushing of the Revolution of 1848 and the execution of his brother Jenő in 1849. In 1904, the building was turned into a hunting castle by nephew Zichy Ödön (1874-1967) of the other grof brother, Zichy Ödön, the founder of the Vienna Oriental Culture Museum. In 1918, after World War I, they had to sell the castle. The new owner becomes Gheorghe Mateescu the wallachian boyar, very popular with the locals. The Mateescu family kept intact the castle interior. The original furniture and the knights' hall were preserved until 1947. After the nationalization, the castle was emptied of furniture and in 1950 it was transformed into a pulmonary sanatorium, which functioned until autumn 2006. On the right side of the castle stands a beautiful ornate bastion. Above the spiral staircase leading to the tower you can read the year 1904. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park.
