Vicky Kayley, 47, from Haworth, West Yorkshire, hated her 'disfigured' appearance post-surgery but after suffering a major heart attack she was advised not to undergo reconstructive surgery. Instead, she enlisted the help of local tattoo artist Lucy Thompson to get an intricate mastectomy tattoo to cover the scars. Vicky said of the procedure, which would normally cost £250: 'When I saw it finished, I cried and cried. I couldn't see my scars any more, just a beautiful tattoo with pretty flowers. I love showing it off, and there is no stopping me now.'
