Shanghai Grand Opera House: One step closer to grand opening

Описание: The exterior construction of the Shanghai Grand Opera House has recently been completed and its interior decoration has started, making it one step closer to opening to the Shanghai public.

The complex features three theatres, with 2,200, 1,200 and 1,000 seats, respectively, allowing for different scales of productions and performances.

The outdoor space serves both as a platform for visitors to get closer to nature as well as an additional performance area which could accommodate around 10,000 viewers.

To ensure the audience could enjoy the best performances possible, an 1:10 acoustic lab was built next to the Grand Opera House to optimize its audio effect.

Earlier, the Shanghai Opera House has announced its 2025 performance season, featuring 24 productions across 59 performances and catering to theatres to be available at the Grand Opera House.

The season will commence with a semi-staged version of "Romeo and Juliet" on December 30 and a romantic opera gala on New Year’s Eve.
