Sonamarg is one of the most visited destinations in Kashmir and for good reasons. The natural beauty of the place is unmatched and it is bound to leave its charm on you once you have been here.
We started from our campsite in Mamar Village much later than planned, at 2 pm. Since the distance to cover wasn't that great, we weren't even worried about it too much.
After a journey of 90 minutes, we arrived in Sonamarg and checked into Hotel Barzman. After some refreshments, we started on our trek to Thajiwas Glacier at 4 pm. This was a mistake.
Why was it a mistake? A little after we started, it started to drizzle, forcing me to wrap my Nikon ZZ6 ii in a plastic bag for good. The trek was way too crowded and there was hardly any space to even walk.
This really ruined my memories of the place and I hated being there at that moment. After we reached snow point, my GoPro also ran out of batter and the last few clips were recorded using my cellphone.
While we were returning, it started to rain heavily and we had to run on our way to Sonamarg. We reached back our hotel drenched.
My Car also started showing signs of some electrical problem, forcing me to change our plan for the next day and break the journey in Kargil instead of heading straight to Panikhar.
