Router Sled/ Planer Jig| Use as a jointer and a planer, Easy to Make and Precise (subtitled)

Описание: This router sled works as a planer and jointer. A jig for those who don't have a jointer or planer. You can surface materials precisely and is designed for flattening materials commonly used in DIY, such as 1x and 2x lumber and offcuts you have in your workshop.
The hold down (adjustable support) of the material is the key. Router sleds are used for surfacing, but most jigs do not have a precise way to match the twist of your board and adjust the height. So, this jig has adjustable supports and a base to control these. For surfacing short pieces, it is easier and safer to use this jig than stationary machines.

I prefer dish carving bits for flattening the surface. Straight bits tend to leave hard milling lines, but dish bits don't. So, it' will be easier to finish the surface.

The ability to surface materials greatly expands the range of things to make. For example, if you are going to try dovetail or any decent joinery for your project, you don't want to use warped or twisted materials. The basic is to have at least one flat surface to work on. Furthermore, if the thicknesses of multiple materials are aligned, it will be much easier to process. This jig is not suitable for processing bunch of long boards, but it is practical enough for the length and number of pieces often used in DIY.

The plunge router is a tool to cut grooves and mortises efficiently, but the accuracy and functions of the tool is very compatible with any jigs, so let's make full use of it. There is no harm in making this jig if you have a plunge router on hand. Although not introduced in this video, there are many ways to use this jig. I used the sled to rough out the material in an angle when making a spatula in another video.
