Madhubani art (or Mithila painting) is a style of Indian painting, practiced in the Mithila region of the Indian subcontinent. This painting is done with a variety of tools, including fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks and using natural dyes and pigments. It is characterised by its eye-catching geometrical patterns.

According to legend, Rama and Lakshman reached Janakpuri along with sage Vishvamitra for Sita's Swaymvara. When there, they had some time to see around the place.The next day, Rama and Lakshman visited a small garden near Janak's place, where Sita was already worshipping Parvati.It is said that then and there, Lord Rama was enamoured by the beauty of Sita - it was almost like the entire world had bowed down to her beauty.On the other hand, when Sita first laid her eyes on Rama, she wished that only he should be her husband.
