TMORPG stands for
tiny multiplayer online role-playing game,
which is basically an MMO...but tiny.
It's a twist on what people already
know and expects of MMOs
focused on more serene,
small sized experiences in which,
meeting other players becomes
de-trivialized experience and something
that holds power to become
a very special moment.
When you walk into a town,
unless it's a big town, it's very unlikely that you're
going to meet a lot of people.
You never know when you're
going to find someone. When you do, it can
become a game-changing
moment if you choose
to engage with them or not.
It becomes very open-ended and into how
one would interact with another as well.
Say, for example,
one day you might get lucky and find a bunch
of people together
and then you try them.
And it's like, I don't know, who knows?
It might be everyone on the server. Every now and then
you might be able to find someone, keep travelling
and hope for the best
that you might encounter another player.
And if so, then you've got to choose
whether you want to be together or not.
So we are also building ways to make
a meeting point more accessible.
So we also do care about making encounters
to be easier if someone really
wishes to travel together.
In Book of Travels, we also use emotes
to communicate, so there are no direct means of
communicating through text or voice.
So we are also using this immersive
way of communicating to express concepts
those players will then need to interpret and create their
logic to engage with other players.
So this also reinforces
the immersive aspects of the game.
We even have some systems to help out
people that that would prefer to travel alone,
so you could, for example,
use skills to boost your talents and solve
endeavours by yourself
up to a certain point.
Nonetheless, there are many ways
of exploring Book of Travels.
It's all up to how you
engage in role-playing your character.
