"Autonomic" - Preludes for String Quartet (2026)

Описание: This set of preludes is an arrangement I've made of another set I've written for solo piano. This was mainly meant as part of an exercise I've made for myself, which involves exploring how the texture of a piece I've written can be changed if arranged for different instruments and/or ensembles, while being able to maintain a similar (if not communicate more clearly) original purpose. In the case of this set however, I have also written the final, fourth prelude from scratch, rather than the initial piece I had for the piano titled "Cloudwalker" - mostly because I found it to fit in more with the direction the pieces were leading in.

These preludes were inspired by William Ducksworth's "Time Curve Preludes", which is why they are written in the minimalist style, also exploring different aspects of textural development in the most raw format. For an example, the second prelude aims to explore harmonic progressions based on change in mode, using the c major as the tonic of the piece.

The collection itself, as per the name, is meant to be evocative of automatic biological processes, including that of death- at the end of the collection.
