NutriBullet Portable Blender (NBP003PU) – Honest User Review. I love nutribullet I own 4 ) so I really wanted to test this blender. As sometimes when traveling would want to make fresh green juice from wild green plants on the go in forest etc. ( check my other videos for green healing drinks I am so passionate about)
I bought the NutriBullet Portable NBP003PU (100W) rechargeable blender and tested it myself. The brand advertises a 7.4V rechargeable battery that should give around 15 short blend cycles per charge. The cup is made from BPA-free Tritan plastic and holds 475 ml, but the real usable fill line is only around 350 ml. It has a flip-top drinking lid and charges through USB-C, so on paper it sounds perfect for travel, work, or quick smoothies on the go.
Now for the real-world performance.
In my test (shown in the video), I made a berry smoothie with raspberries. After running the blender for five full blend cycles, the raspberry seeds were still clearly there. The texture stayed little gritty. This means it does NOT properly break down small hard seeds, even after repeated blending. That was a deal-breaker for me, because if a blender cannot crush berry seeds, it is not really making a smooth smoothie, as I often want to add fresh leaves to my smoothies, this would be not be tasty.
This matches what many real users online have also said. A lot of people report that frozen berries, strawberries, and raspberries leave gritty bits behind. You get a drinkable smoothie, but not a smooth one. You still feel seeds and fiber in your mouth. If you like thick, pulpy smoothies, you might be okay with it — but if you want silky smooth texture, this blender does not deliver.
The motor is only 100 watts, which is very weak compared to a regular countertop blender. Because of that, it struggles with:
Seeds
Fibrous fruit
Thick smoothies
Ice
Anything too dense
It runs in short 20-second bursts, and you often have to shake the cup between cycles to move ingredients around. If you try to fill it too much or make the mix too thick, it will stop or fail to blend properly.
The battery is convenient, but also very limited. In theory you get about 15 short blends per full charge, which equals about 5 minutes of total blending time. In real use, especially with thick or frozen ingredients, the battery drains much faster. You cannot make several large smoothies in a row without recharging. For one drink it’s fine. Maybe for 2. For more than that, it quickly becomes annoying.
The build quality is okay but feels light. The cup is plastic, not glass, and while it is BPA-free, it does not feel premium. The flip-top lid is actually one of the better parts — it seals well and is easy to drink from. But the blade is fixed to the motor base, which makes cleaning awkward. Food gets stuck under the blade and around the bottom, and you can’t remove the blade to wash it properly. You also have to be careful not to get water into the charging port.
So what is this blender actually good for?
It can be useful for:
Protein shakes
Soft fruit smoothies (banana, yogurt, milk, etc.)
Pre-cut soft fruit
Simple travel drinks
One-person use
If you use soft ingredients and don’t care about a perfectly smooth texture, it can be “good enough.” It’s also handy if you need something cordless and portable.
But let’s be clear about what it does NOT do:
It does NOT fully crush seeds
It does NOT make silky smooth smoothies
It does NOT handle thick or heavy blends well
It does NOT replace a real countertop blender
It does NOT have a strong or long-lasting battery for heavy use
After testing it myself and seeing the gritty berry smoothie in my cup, I decided not to keep it. I personally expect a blender to break down seeds and fiber, and this one simply didn’t.
This is not a scam product — it works — but it is very limited. Many real buyers online say the same thing: it’s fine for light drinks, but disappointing for real smoothie lovers.
I made this video so people researching this blender know what to expect. If you want something small and portable for quick shakes, it might be okay. If you want smooth, seed-free smoothies, this is not the right tool.
That’s my honest experience.
