Most of us have seen violet glow across power transmission line specially high voltage and EHV line .

The violet glow across line specially EHV line is due to CORONA EFFECT , so what it is , when high voltage transfer through conductor this cause increase in voltage gradient across conductor , conductor sourrounded by air increase in gradient break air dielectric strength and cause flow electron surrounding conductor which often seen like violet glow .
