In part 2 of this sadhana ("spiritual practice"), Tibetan Buddhist monk and meditation teacher Khenpo Kalsang Dhundup shares instruction and guided meditation on the "nine-fold expulsion of stale air," contemplating the three karmic doors of body, speech, and mind, and contemplating the qualities of a Buddha. The recitation is the chant of Shakyamuni Buddha (OM, MUNI MUNI MAHAMUNI, SOHA). Part 2 of 2 of a formal beginning Vajrayana meditation practice. Born in Tibet, Khenpo Kalsang Dhundrup became a monk at Larung Gar, where he received profound teachings and empowerments from His Holiness Choje Jigmed Phuntsok Rinpoche and Dakini Mutso Rinpoche. In 2005, he moved to India and joined Namdroling Monastery, completing a nine-year course in Buddhist studies in 2014. From 2015 to 2019, Khenpo Kalsang taught at various monasteries in India and Nepal. He was awarded the Khenpo degree by Karma Kuchen Rinpoche, the throne holder of the Palyul lineage of the Nyingma School, at Namdroling.
He has received teachings on the Great Perfection (Dzogchen) from renowned masters, including His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche, Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche, Pema Sherab Rinpoche, and Yangthang Rinpoche. Last year, Khenpo Kalsang completed further studies at Harvard Divinity School, and he now lives at the Nyingma Institute in Berkeley, CA.
