Last weekend, we successfully installed the eighth and final tunnel element of the Scheldt Tunnel, in Antwerp, Belgium. A major milestone: all tunnel elements are now in place.
Over the past six months, we carefully transported and immersed each element, weighing more than 60,000 tonnes, with millimetre precision. Curious how we pulled off this complex operation? Our colleague Geert takes you behind the scenes and walks you through the process.
The Scheldt Tunnel is an important part of the Oosterweel Link, which will complete the Antwerp ring road and contribute to safer and smoother mobility in and around the city.
