Just an hour’s drive from Siem Reap, deep in Phnom Kulen forest, lies a sanctuary where retired elephants live in peace.
Once used for rides and heavy labor, these gentle giants now roam freely, living the way elephants are meant to live.

Kulen Elephant Forest is not a typical tourist spot—it’s a place of rest, recovery, and respect.
Here, I spent the day walking beside elephants, feeding them, watching them splash in the river, and reflecting on what true connection looks like.
