TS Patriot State - Shift, State Pier to Training Ship Berth

Описание: The USTS Patriot State arrived at Massachusetts Maritime Academy on 22 February 2025 to complete Sea Term 2025. Due to high winds, the ship was required to make fast to the State Pier at the west end of the Cape Cod Canal and await more favorable conditions. Conditions suitable for the shift from the Canal to the training ship's ordinary berth presented themselves two days later, in the early morning of 24 February.

Due to the strong current and potential draft constraints, moves in or out of the training ship berth must be completed at high-water slack. Due to the challenges of predicting hydraulic current velocity in the Cape Cod Canal, all preparations must be complete some time prior to the anticipated slack water, ensuring no time is lost when the current pauses at high water.

The underway portion of the shift is played in real time, with the periods before and after the transit sped up into a time lapse.
