Engineering Wonders, How Were Ancient Arches Built with Precision?
Today, in my video, I explained how ancient people were capable of building arches with precision :
The work begins by constructing a brick wall with a specific span.
2-Construction continues until it reaches the level of the arch.
3-Building the arch directly with bricks to achieve the desired form is challenging. Instead, a timber structure is formed into the shape of the arch. This allows for working on intricate details with greater precision.
4-Utilize structural wooden supports to carry wooden frame.
5-Start laying bricks around the wooden frame.
6-Continue the process of building bricks around the arch.
7-Once the brickwork is complete, carefully remove the timber structure, leaving you with the required arch.
The arch is capable of supporting itself and can carry substantial load after it has been completely built.
When The forces acting on the arch, It will transferred along the arch to its base.
