✔️ Solo Travel Experience from Vijayawada Arunachalam is one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalas representing the Fire (Agni Lingam). Lord Shiva here is worshipped as Arunachaleswara.
It is believed that doing Giri Pradakshina (Girivalam) around the sacred Arunachala hill removes sins and fulfills wishes. The total distance is approximately 14 Kilometers and thousands of devotees walk barefoot chanting “Om Namah Shivaya”.
During Maha Shivaratri, lakhs of devotees visit Tiruvannamalai for special night darshan and spiritual experience. 🚶♂️ GIRI PRADAKSHINA DETAILS
Distance: 14 KM
Best Time: Full Moon Night / Maha Shivaratri
Time Required: 3–5 Hours
Footwear: Not Allowed (Most devotees walk barefoot)
Start Point: Temple East Gopuram
Along the route, there are 8 Lingams (Ashta Lingams) and many small temples.
Walking with devotion gives a powerful spiritual energy that cannot be explained in words. On February 15th, 2026, the temple was fully crowded with devotees.
The night atmosphere, bhajans, chanting, temple bells, and deepam lights created a divine vibration.
