In this First Amendment Audit, I visited the Mosheim Police Department to see how they would respond to a citizen exercising their right to record in public. Things started off a little tense when the front desk clerk reacted with hostility toward the camera, but Officer Matthews quickly stepped in and handled the situation with professionalism and respect.
After a brief moment of education, the atmosphere completely changed — and the department ultimately upheld their oath to the Constitution.
