Everything on the Olympus OM-1 works differently from other vintage 35mm film cameras. The Olympus OM-1 has its shutter speed control where other vintage film cameras would have the aperture ring. The aperture control ring for the Olympus OM-1, or the OM system, is on the front of the lens, with the focus ring just behind it.
