Written by Doc Watkins and Brian Sporer in San Antonio, TX
Our humble attempt to pay homage to everyone affected by the drought of '11. Recorded in the Watkins' living room with the best equipment on hand at the time. Music was written in late-August during a bout of discouragement over seemingly endless 100+ degree days. Text was written in March.
I look to the heavens
Through the cloudless skies
Praying no storm ever comes my way
But it's that cloudless vision
That makes me realize
We could all use a little rain
In the heat of the summer
When I just want a drink
The thirst brings a thought to my mind
That sunshine is fickle
More so than you think
We could all use a little rain
The clouds, they're a coming
So the weatherman says
Beware of the storms that are near
But I'm longing for showers
And adventurous days
We could all use a little rain
I hear the skeptic say
Once the rain has begun
That the floods will quickly follow
But you know nothing thrives
Where there's only sun
We could all use a little rain
Lord knows I'm praying for showers
And I'm not the only one
We could all use... a little rain
