WSF to tack on 3% credit card fee for ferries, affecting 80% of travelers

Описание: A one-way or round-trip ferry ticket in Washington state will soon cost more for travelers paying with a credit or debit card in person, at a kiosk, or online.

A new 3% fee will go into effect on March 1 as a way to help state ferries recover costs paid to credit card companies, previously paid for by the state. The fee will not be added for people who pay with cash or an ORCA card.

"I’m actually surprised the ferry’s been able to keep prices down as much as they have, but I’ll just pay cash," ferry commuter Paula Derrington told KOMO News.
