Geoff Keighley is staying silent after the Highguard layoffs and the collapse at Wildlight Entertainment, and a lot of people are pointing the finger at him. I get why, but I also explain why I don’t think this one is actually on Geoff. The Game Awards put nearly 100,000 players through the door on day one. If Highguard was worth playing, that should have been enough. This was Wildlight hitching its cart to the wrong horse, skipping real public testing, relying on shill marketing, and shipping a product that could not be saved. Now only a small core team remains and the clock is ticking.
