UPDATE: At the time of this report, officials stated one woman was killed and one woman was injured after being struck by a trash truck. MPD has since made the correction that the deceased victim was a man.

D.C. police are searching for the driver of a trash truck after a deadly hit-and-run in Northwest D.C. Investigators say two people riding electric bikes were struck around 2 p.m. near Upshur Street and Georgia Avenue. One person was killed, and the other was hospitalized.
Police say the truck involved is white and green and has “WB Waste Solutions LLC” on the side. A shaken witness told FOX 5 they saw the truck “running over” the victims and said it never stopped.
Detectives are still working to determine what led up to the crash and why the driver kept going. If you saw the collision or spot the truck, police are asking you to contact them.
