« Marilyn vs Marilyn » is a documentary film based on previously unseen photographs by Milton Greene, Marilyn Monroe’s longtime friend, photographer and companion during the 1950s.
This film is not strictly a reconstruction of M.M.’s life and career, but instead explores a lesser-known period of her story: her years in New York and her ambition to become a “real” actress. It also examines her photographic image, which helped create one of the greatest myths in cinema history. The film includes photographs from the posing sessions between Milton Greene and Marilyn Monroe.
Marilyn Monroe remains one of the great icons of the 20th century. Her films are known around the world, yet her personality is still surrounded by many shadows.
She passed away on August 5, 1962, at the age of 36.”
