18 “O Egypt, to which of the trees of Eden will you compare your strength and glory? You, too, will be brought down to the depths with all these other nations. You will lie there among the outcasts[d] who have died by the sword. This will be the fate of Pharaoh and all his hordes. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”

Explain – The Lord God spoke through the prophet Ezekiel of the fate of Egypt, their Pharoh and armies.

Apply – Our choices can determine our fate as well. We can choose life by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, by abiding in the Holy Spirit as He abides in us choosing to faithfully and obediently following Him. Or we can choose death by living life contrary to the ways of the Lord God and receiving the same fate as the sinful rulers of Egypt. Choose this day whom you will serve.

Joshua 24:15 ESV And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Deuteronomy 30:19 ESV I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Respond- Thank You Lord for Your salvation and You, Holy Spirit, who inhabits me. I reaffirm my faith in You and choose this day to serve You. I pray for any that do not know You, may they find You as their Lord and Savior. Amen.
