Welcome to One Sixth Dimension! In this video we’re taking a look at Hot Toys MMS174 Captain America from The Avengers (2012), one of the earlier Hot Toys releases that still holds a special place in many Marvel collector's displays.

The masked head sculpt is a standout feature, and the star and stripes on the shoulder are nicely detailed. I also really like the alien blaster accessory, which helps recreate the iconic moment where Cap stands on the car and commands the police during the Battle of New York.

One thing I’m not too sure about is the detachable hoodie, it doesn’t look particularly great on the figure in my opinion.

The chrome shield is known to fade over time, but honestly I don’t mind. A shield isn’t meant to stay perfectly shiny forever anyway.

Articulation is a little limited compared to newer Hot Toys releases. The legs are somewhat restricted, and the boots are solid, meaning the ankle section can’t rotate. This makes dynamic posing a bit harder without using a stand.

Even with those limitations, this is still a great early Hot Toys Captain America figure and an important piece for Avengers collectors.
