Today is a special occassion..it's the birthday of the great maestro Prabodh Chandra Dey's (or as we know him as Manna dey) birthday. He's perhaps one of the few artists who dominated the bollywood (hindi) music industry as well as the bengali film & independent music industry with equal elan.
Unfortunately this great man left us on 24th October, 2013. But he'll remain in our hearts forever through his unparalleled versatility & numerous memorable works that'll keep on inspiring generations by generations.

This is a Bengali film song "Aami Jamini Tumi Sashi Hey" (which roughly translates : "you are the moon to my night; shining in the sky") from the movie "Antony Firingee" released in the year 1967 starring Uttam Kumar, Tanuja, Asit Baran, Chaya Debi, Bhanu Banerjee, Jahar Roy and others. Anil Bagchi scored the music in the film.
The Leading Artists of this Song is Manna Dey.

Manna Dey is considered to be the most versatile singer who ever came into the Indian music scenario. He was a living inspiration ..a complete guidebook on singing whether it was classical, romantic, modern or purely "filmy" or commercial there was none parallel to his ability.
I tried to pay a small tribute to this legend. Hope you like it & can look beyond the few minor glitches as I'm not a very good guitarist at all (I'm only a singer)... & recording in this heat is pretty tough.
