70000 Britannia on the 'Bath Spa Express' - 05/09/12

Описание: BR Standard Class 7MT 4-6-2 no.70000 'Britannia' hauled the Poole - Bristol TM - Pool tour 'The Bath Spa Express' (1Z87/1Z88). This was her first railtour since having her bogie springs repaired at Didcot GWS, as well as being the first 'Bath Spa Express' of the 2012 season to actually run, as the previous four runs had been cancelled due to low bookings and a loco failure. I was talking to a bloke at Bristol and he said that the low bookings might have been because there was no standard class available and it seems it must have been added onto today's tour to increase the number of bookings. Anyway on with the video, for the outward shot I decided to go to Oldfield Park Station where we see Britannia accelerating out of Bath making plenty of noise and whistles as she pounds on by to Bristol, notice how she "steam cleans" the underside of the bridge with dirt falling on her. Now at Bristol she is seen in glorious sunshine taking the empty stock away to Bristol Barton Hill depot. For the return shot I went to Keynsham in hope of getting a successful shot of her because as some of you may know, previous attempts to film her at Keynsham haven't exactly gone so well due to the over-sensitive microphone on my old camcorder clashing with her high pitched whistle, as well as me trying to "fix" that problem by messing with the audio settings. No such troubles today thankfully now that I've got a proper microphone as Britannia is seen storming along the long straight then whistling like mad right through the station, brilliant!

Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS900 with a Pro Sound L92AA microphone for the main shots and a Panasonic VW-VMS2E microphone for the Bristol shots.
