To all of you who are applying to college this year,
The college admissions process can be difficult, unpleasant, and disappointing. Throughout this process, you will attempt to flesh out all of your successes and trials in a few hundred words only to be told that you are not academically qualified enough to attend a certain university. Many universities may not even read over your application, but even if they do, they are only judging that, your application. College decisions do not determine your potential as a student or as a person.
Also, remember that while you are applying to college, you will be trying to keep up your grades in your senior year classes, have fun, and make memories. This is an ideal opportunity to discover that delicate balance between living in the moment and planning for the future.
Lastly, college is what you make of it. Even if you choose a college that you hate the idea of at first, you will find people you like and be able to study what you want to. Your future is truly up to you.
