Our day 3-5 Part 2 Mandalay vacation 2020
Goes to Sagaing Bridge (Ava Bridge) it crosses the Irrawaddy River, to the southwest of Mandalay and Amarapura and just to the north of the old Ava bridge, and also known as the New Ava Bridge. It was completed in 2008.
Total Length: 1,711 m
Next stop is in Lions Stones a huge lions stones is part of the Mingun Pahtodawgyi, two giant Mingun Lions guard facing the river, it was almost totally destroy during the 1838 earthquake. Two massive headless lions guard the entrance to the temple.
Another stop to Mingun Pahtodawgyi is an incomplete monument stupa in Mingun, approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) northwest of Mandalay in Sagaing Region in central Myanmar. The ruins are the remains os a massive construction project begun by King Bodawpaya in 1790 which was internationally left unfinished.
Last stop is in Mya Thein Tan Pagoda is a large white pagoda located close to the Mingun Pahtodawgyi.
Constructed by King Bagyidaw in 1816, the Mya Thein Tan Pagoda represents Mount Meru, a sacred Buddhist Mountain. The seven-tiered terraces resembled the mountain ranges topped by a stupa representing the legendary Sulamani pagoda.
