On the 6th anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear triple meltdown, March 11, 2017, forty GTA residents gathered on the Pickering beach alongside the Pickering Nuclear Station – one of the world’s oldest (1971) and largest (6 working reactors). In -20 degree temperatures, they called for the closure of the Pickering Nuclear station in 2018 – no more extensions. OPG is applying for yet another 10 year extension, till 2028. Premier Wynne, listen up.
