In this episode we see Riyad Mahrez in one of his greatest performances during the 2013/14 season against Lens. His team; Le Havre were winless 5 games into the new season and hadn't beaten 1st place Lens, since 1999. The visitors went ahead after just 4 mins so Mahrez and his team had to comeback from behind. The Algerian winger was dangerous throughout and causing havoc in the opposition half. He assisted the go ahead goal and 4 mins later scored himself to make it 3-1. Around 20 mins into the 2nd half he then assisted another goal, and that completed the comeback win. The 22 year old finished with 5 goals and 5 assists up until January 2014. Leicester City signed him during the winter window for €500K and well the rest is history!

“The Match That Made” is an established series that I started doing back in 2018. The concept is to show the superstars of today, in their best performance of the season before they got signed to a top club. Of course 1 game doesn't make the player who they are today but those special performances are the ones that catch the eyes of world watching!
