DIY Leather Wine Tote Tutorial and Pattern - "First Aid"

You can make this cool and funny leather wine tote using Karlova Pattern which comes in PDF, SVG and DXF formats (including A4, US Letter and 24" wide paper formats). This tote would make a great gift for your alcoholic friend or just about anyone who loves booze and has a sense of humor. Christmas is coming!
This project can be completed in about a day and you can also make your own text because I've included the full alphabet with this pattern so you can get creative :)

The tote itself has stitching holes marked for 5mm stitching irons.

The letters have stitching holes marked for 4 mm but the stitch length is varied slightly due to complex shapes of the letters. It is recommended to punch the holes for stitching the letters one by one.

What you are gonna need:

Tools:
Knife or scissors, stitching irons, hole punch, maul or mallet, pair of harness needles, waxed thread, rivet setter.

Materials:
For the body and bottom - approximately 2 mm (5 oz) medium to stiff temper.
For the letters - 1 to 1.5 mm any temper (but it will be easier to cut if leather is on the stiff side)
For the handle (strap) - 2.5-3 mm (6-6.5 oz).
For the bottom rim - stiff 1 mm.

You can make the tote out of soft leather and it would be fine, in this case I would omit the bottom rim and stitch the bottom directly to the body with overlapping stitch (body layer being on top).

Hardware:
1” buckle, you can do any other closure if you want or just make it a one-piece strap riveted on both ends.
