PROGRAM NOTE
Our minds forge memories that are kept or forgotten throughout our lifetime. The forgotten memories are twisted and distorted when you try to remember them. In my music, I represented this by using chromatic harmony and different rhythmic ideas. At the end of the piece, the memory is put back together and stored in the vastness of our mind. The marimbas then play the same notes and rhythms right before the piece ends, along with bringing back the original melodic idea from the beginning coming back at the end of the piece to close it out, showing that the memory has been restored.
