The 59 Riva is quietly known as one of the finest riding boats that the Ferretti Group has ever manufactured. The 59 Mercurius rides on a deep-V bottom with 17 degrees of deadrise at the transom and shallow propeller tunnels. Her top speed of 40.7 mph at 2300 rpm and cruised at 36.8 mph at 2100 rpm. These speeds are similar to what you'd get out of the Sunseeker and Viking. The quintessential day/play boat, the 59 Mercurius has a garage that can accommodate a 10' RIB. There are stowage compartments outboard of the tender that close with firm latches to ensure containment. Hydraulic power opens the garage and raises and lowers the gangway and swim ladder. Be pampered by her full beam master with en suite head and lots of closet space and then go all the way forward is the VIP stateroom with en suite head. Riva 59's decor reminds one of something right out of Architectural Digest. In the modem-looking galley to starboard, the drawer faces, along with the refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher doors, are finished in brushed stainless steel. The use of light woods coated in shimmering lacquer instead of dark cherry gives the area a spacious feel. Across the dinette, the locker hatches above the folding-leaf table have a burnished leather fascia.

Riva is synonymous to elegance and luxury but this Mercurius 59 is much more than that, as she is a HIGH Performance vessel fitted with 2 x MAN 1360 hp engines which reach speeds up to 40 knots!!! Cruising speed at 30 knots with unrealistically low fuel consumption of 300 L/hour, this vessel is ideal for quick getaways!! Professionally maintained, in good condition considering her age. Riva, the Mercurius is fast becoming a future classic with excellent sea keeping qualities and performance to match. High degree of finish with the finest materials, and like all Rivas, a pleasure to own. This example is a one owner boat with crew / maintenance all year round and low hours (never chartered).

If I have one complaint about the 59 Mercurius, it is that she is, in a sense, too good. At speed, the boat feels solid with no rattles or vibration, and the smooth ride takes away any feeling of speed, even with the throttles wide open. This is a sport cruiser, but you and your guests are so well protected that you do not get the expected impression of speed that comes from sport boat performance.
The same applies to the 59's appearance. She will stand out in the marina, from the sheer understated quality she exudes.
Anyone who thought the Aquariva was a one-time attempt by Riva to recapture its pedigree need look no further than the new 59 Mercurius to see that Ferretti is serious about rekindling the brand. Her exterior, her interior and her handling all sparkle with the special touches Riva built its reputation on more than a century ago.
