Australian Startups Leads The Race To Develop Coronavirus Vaccine

Описание: The partnership between global biotech CSL and the University of Queensland is seen as the probable winner to develop the Coronavirus vaccine. This partnership will help to accelerate the future development, manufacture, and distribution of a University of Queensland COVID-19 vaccine. If clinical trials are successful, a vaccine will be available by 2021, the initial phase of large-scale production planned to take place at CSL’s biotech manufacturing facilities in Melbourne, Australia.

Other startups like, Vaxine has joined forces with South Korean biopharma firm Medytox for the development of Covid-19 vaccine candidate, COVAX-19. The startup signed an agreement on May 12, 2020. Both, Vaxine and Medytox will together carry out product and process development, clinical trial programme and commercial scale-up for the Australian and Asian markets, including Korea. This South Australian biotech startup is hoping to be among the top five vaccine programmes in the next three months. The startup has suggested the Australian government to provide development deals to the startups.

As per the report by the World Health Organisation (WHO), more than 70 vaccines are in preclinical development by pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, government agencies, and others which are being tracked by WHO.
