A time capsule where gold rush ruins were left behind, isolated in the mountain remote wilderness of Montana. This journey will offer you a memorable experience because Garnet ghost town is unlike any others!
A lifetime ago, ghost town Garnet and Coloma was settled and then dealt a crushing blow. Just like many of these old mining towns, they started with a fantasy of striking it rich. They were a hub for the many mines covering the Garnet Mountain Range. And like most gold rush towns, never found their riches. The boom was short lived and very few persevered. You can easily hike your way up and explore the mountains, as there are many well preserved and unique old cabins, historical artifacts, mines and portals - left exactly how they were when the old timers left them.
Much of the historical fabric of Garnet still remains echoing "what once was" It's now recognized as the most intact ghost town in Montana. As it's near Glacier National Park , thousands of visitors make the trek up the steep and rugged mountain roads, to experience history first-hand. This ghost town just might have the highest level of adventure of any location I have ever had the pleasure of exploring. And I'm very excited to be sharing this incredible outdoor adventure with all of you. Whether you're an off-roader, hiker, or just out for an exploration adventure, you will not forget this incredible ghost town.
