ইসরায়েলি নারকীয়তায় প্রায় ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে ফিলিস্তিনের প্রাচীনতম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আল-আকসা। এরইমাঝে শতশত বাস্তুচ্যুতদের পাশাপাশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গনে আশ্রয় নিয়েছেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বহু শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী। ধসে যাওয়া ভবনগুলোর মতোই ধুলো জমেছে শিক্ষার্থীদের উচ্চশিক্ষার তীব্র আকাঙ্ক্ষায়। তবুও আবার পাঠদান শুরুর আশা নিয়েই জীবন কাটাচ্ছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীরা।

Al-Aqsa University, the oldest university in Palestine, has been almost destroyed by Israeli inferno. In the meantime, along with hundreds of displaced people, many teachers and students of the university have taken shelter in the university premises. Like the collapsed buildings, the students' intense desire for higher education has gathered dust. Yet, the teachers and students of the university are living their lives with the hope of starting classes again.
