181: Matnog, Sorsogon Pink Sand Beach

Subic Beach in Matnog, Sorsogon is at the southernmost part of Luzon. This island offers that rare pinkish sand.

How to get there:

If coming from Manila: You may take either the plane or the bus to Legazpi. From Legazpi, you may take either the van or the bus to Bulan, Sorsogon. The terminal is located just across SM Legazpi. Fare will cost you Php160 if you take the bus and Php180 if you will take the van. When you reach Irosin, Sorsogon, you should already be ready because you will have to alight at the crossing between Bulan and Matnog. Travel time from Legazpi to this place is about 2 hours, if you take the van, to 3 hours, if you take the bus. From this place, you will need to take either the jeepney or a tricycle to Matnog poblacion. Fare will cost Php20 if you take the jeepney and Php50 if you take the tricycle. From Matnog poblacion, you will need to get a motorized banca to Subic Island. A round trip by motorized banca to Subic Island will cost Php2,000 for a group of 10 pax. You will also need to pay a DOT fee of Php150 per pax. Travel time from Matnog poblacion to Subic Island is about 30 minutes.Once at Subic Beach, you may either pitch a tent or rent a room. A tent may be rented at Php300 and a room will cost you from Php1,000 to Php3,500.
